| Native of California and southern Oregon, growing on rocky hillsides
and screes, often on serpetine at 1000-2000m . flowering in April to
July. A dwarf species up to 10cm. tall. Difficult to cultivate
requiring deep stony soil, moist in spring, rather dry in summer and
autumn. |
